This Privacy Policy applies to the Prepare for Civics iOS app and the prepareforcivics.com website. Prepare for Civics is an independent educational app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by USCIS or any U.S. government agency.

Data collection

The app does not collect your data

The app does not collect or transmit personal data or usage data. We do not sell or share personal data because the app does not collect any.

• No advertising is shown.
• No analytics are built into the app.
• No third-party tracking technologies or software development kits are used.

Website analytics

We measure visits to improve the website

The Prepare for Civics website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, browser and device information, referring pages, and interactions with the site. It may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visitors and sessions.

We use this information to review aggregate website traffic and improve the site. It is not used to track practice progress in the iPhone app. Google processes analytics information under its Privacy Policy. You can limit this collection by blocking cookies or Google Analytics in your browser.

On-device storage

Your practice progress stays local

Practice progress and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Prepare for Civics does not receive or have access to this information.

Your locally stored app data may be included in an iCloud or device backup if backups are enabled on your device. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple and are subject to Apple’s privacy practices. You can manage backup settings through your Apple device settings.

Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from the device. Data already included in a device backup remains subject to your backup settings.

App Store purchase

Apple handles the purchase

Prepare for Civics is a $3.99 one-time purchase. Apple processes the App Store transaction. The app does not receive your payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under its own privacy policy and App Store terms.
